2009 Manitoba Jazz Musician of the Year

I'm a drummer, percussionist, vocalist, bass player, composer/arranger, historian, author and radio announcer. I graduated from McGill University in 1971 and from Moorhead State University in 1974.

Currently I perform with the Owen Clark Band, the Owen Clark Big Band and the Owen Clark Jass Group. I also freelance with many bands, singers and performing groups in the Winnipeg area. This year I was honoured by being the recipient of Jazz Winnipeg's recipient of the 2009 Manitoba Jazz Musician of the Year Award.

My book 'Musical Ghosts, Manitoba's Jazz and Dance Bands, 1914 - 1966' was released in March, 2008. A CD 'The Owen Clark Jass Band' was released in April, 2009.

I'm on the board of directors of the Manitoba Historical Society and CJNU Nostalgia Broadcasting Cooperative.
