Herb Henson

CJNU Announcer

I was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba, and received my Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from Brandon University. I taught school in Brandon and then Ste. Rose du Lac for 36 years. I raised a family of two daughters and one son - who is in broadcasting in Grand Prairie, Alberta.

I was on the Board of Directors of Westman Media Communications and also chairman of the Ste. Rose Community Media Committee. I am now retired and living in Winnipeg with my wife Lynne.

I was a history teacher and have therefore tried to include this interest in my broadcasting on CJNU. Each week I feature a specific year. I play music from that year as well as talk about events, births, prices, Oscars, etc. from that year. CJNU is all about memories and I feel these extra features enhance the process of remembering our past.

I am also involved with the Knights of Columbus as Deputy Grand Knight. I volunteer a couple days a week at the Health Sciences Centre.
