Gren Marsh

CJNU Announcer

I host the CJNU Sunday morning show from 9:00 to noon. I first got started in broadcasting at a 250-watt AM station in Belleville, Ontario - CJBQ. I was there from May, 1949 to November, 1951.

From there I moved west to CFQC in Saskatoon. I was there for about a year and then spent six happy years at CKCK in Regina.

When CKCK went to Rock 'n Roll, I said enough. So I applied and was hired by CBC Winnipeg, where I stayed for 30 years until I retired.

All through this long journey I married Lorraine. We had five children; four boys, one girl. They are of course all grown now and scattered across the country. My daughter, Cindy works with me at CJNU doing the weather. When she's unavailable my son, John pitches in.

My favourite music is jazz from the '20s through '50s, with Duke Ellington heading the list. I enjoy my radio work and I hope my listeners enjoy it as well.
