Volunteer Opportunities at CJNU
Most of the 'work' that keeps CJNU on the air is done by volunteers. As we gradually increase the amount of time we're on the air, now usually all but one day a month, the need for volunteers is greater than ever. So the search is on for people who would like to experience what it's like to be involved in running a radio station - people who want to contribute to keeping the sound of nostalgia radio on the air in Winnipeg.
Volunteers are needed to perform a wide range of tasks including announcers, producer/operators, telephone volunteers, data entry, addressing and stuffing envelopes, staffing display tables at a mall or other community event, distributing posters in the community, working on a newsletter, marketing and promotions, sales and sponsorships, administrative positions and others. There are also opportunities for leaders who would like to take on a leadership role in our Nostalgia Broadcasting Cooperative.
Experience in this type of work would be helpful but is not required for any of these jobs - just a willingness to learn. Most of our volunteers work one three to four hour shift per week, but when and how often you work is open to discussion.
People interested in becoming an active volunteer complete and submit our Volunteer/Staff Questionnaire and mail it to us. Click here to download the form in PDF format. For more information you can send an email to our Volunteer Coordinator, or phone 942-CJNU(2568).
